Daiki Kougyou is going to release the Ryomou Shimei ( 呂蒙子明 ) 1/4 PVC figure from the manga/anime “Ikkitousen” ( 一騎当千). Will be released in September 2010. Around 410mm tall, 21,900 yen. Castoffable.
This post contains adult material, you need to be 18 or over to view it.
GK version (left), PVC version (right)
The original GK version of this Ryomou Shimei was released in October 2009 in Treasure-Festa in Ariake 2. Around 7 months later, Daiki decided to bring us the PVC version of this 1/4 scale finally. Maybe people didn’t really like the face of the GK version, so Daiki changed her face a bit (mainly the eyes) and turn Ryomou from a realistic style girl to an anime style girl.
May be it is good for those who like the anime style, but personally I think it’s a bad thing to change the original design like this. The sculptor Toshiro is really well known for his realistic style (please check out the Saber and the girl from Naked Star). What Daiki did is really not respecting him even if he is ok with it. =/

——Description from Manufacturer—— Sculpted by Toshiro (Cobra-Kai) The ultra popular (and ultra-large) garage kit from Cobra-Kai has finally made the leap to PVC! Featuring a cast-off enabled apron, skit and underwear along with openable handcuffs this is an amazing addition to any Ikki Tousen collection! |

What the @#$% did Daiki doing? I really like Toshiro’s style very much(cursed you Daiki for what you made Saber not castoffable).
Oh yeah… him. I hated his version of Saber because her face went from “anime” style to “early Disney animation” style.
I like Ryomou either way (GK and PVC). Do her eyes seem a little far apart or is it just the camera angles?
I have ordered GKs of this model and I am surely going to order this one too.If I have to say something not completely 5 stars about this PVC model, is the skin colour which is yellowish , just as if she had some liver problem, but, it is RYOMOU SHIMEI… and I cannot resist ,give me two !! What about the letters, GGT, did they work ??
I think the sculpt is actually the same – they just simplified the paint job for the mass production release. Remember, that GK is a one-off paint job, the ones sold are unpainted. It would be very hard (if even possible) to replicate the detail in that paint application in a mass-produced PVC figure, so the eyes and some other details (mainly shading) seem to be simplified. Please call me out if I’m wrong, but I think the sculpt is exactly the same.
They did change the shape of the eye a bit in the PVC paint job, though, which I do think looked a bit better in the original version. I also hope they punch up the lips a bit in the final version, they look really flat in the initial shots. But either way – its Daiki and its Ryomou and I ordered it already.
Yeah, the pvc face has more of a soft feel to it. Also looks like her eyes have been repositioned higher on her face. But i think i’ll still pick it up.
BIPSY knows.I think exactly the same,and ,let`s admmit…SHE is a must buy .
As a Ryomou collector I love this figure, the only thing I dont love is the price!
GENIUS is a genius of finances, and he is right .But …GENIUS ..life is short..
The skin tone on the GK version is better, too much yellow on the PVC version. Daiki should release a series of all the characters from Ikki Tousen, but in the same scale, so they’d all look cool together.
