WAVE is going to release the DreamTech Izumi Kanata ( 泉かなた ) non-scale PVC figure from the manga/anime “Lucky Star” ( らき☆すた ). Will be released in July 2009. Around 145mm tall, 4,935 yen.

Oh my! Here is Konata’s mom Kanata!!! It’s very hard to believe that WAVE is making this figure. I think she only appeared in the anime as a ghost once (see the youtube clip below), and couple times in the photo, but never appeared in the manga. She passed away when Konata was still a baby. And she looks almost identical to Kanata.

This figure looks great. The sculptor really catch her verve. You can tell that Kanata is a really kind and gentle person form this figure. The paint job is great too. The shading on her dress and the flowers are A+. Let’s hope that the final product will be as good as this one. =]
