Volks Art Display is going to release the KOS-MOS Ver.4 1/4 cold cast GK from the anime/game series “Xenosaga III” ( ゼノサーガIII ) published by namco. Advance pre-order will start at Hobby Rouond 3 on April 18, 2010. 58,000 yen. Release date TBA. Kit is perpainted.
March 25, 2010: Updated with price
At first I thought this KOS-MOS was the same one that displayed at Chara Hobby 2009 C3 X Hobby and Hobby Round 2. But I was wrong, this was actually the one at WF2010[Winter].
**The KOS-MOS at Chara Hobby 2009 C3 X Hobby and Hobby Round 2**
I didn’t know that they were different until now. From what I can tell, those two are basically the same except the weapon. There is not much infomation about this one. No release date nor price has been announced. But since the one at C3 and Hobby Round 2 costed 48,000 yen, I guess this one will cost around the same.
For those who is a big KOS-MOS fan (Panther?), does your wallet ready? XD
Update (Feb3): Thank you Panther and gundamjehutykai. This KOS-MOS will be prepainted, more likely she will cost over 50,000 yen, wow. (Oo.
Update (Mar25): The price is out! She costs 58,000 yen, WOW!!!! What should I do? She worth more than my kidney! LOL. XD

Volks are a bunch of evil bastards I tell ya…
When there is going to have KOS-MOS Xenosaga II ver? I know people don’t like that version of her but I think she looks very nice in that more realistic version.
i like the Xenosaga 1 version the most, 2 and 3 are too mature looking.
I’ve already got the pre-painted version from Hobbyfan…

If Hobbyfan or E2046 come out with a pre-painted version, I might consider getting it even tho I don’t like the idea of buying multiple versions of the same figure… The more I see it, the more I want that blade! 🙂
We all could ask Hobbyfan to make the beam sword only and them sell it. I know a lot of owner will buy the beam sword.
That’s a great idea! I’m hoping it’s already been thought of and planned for release when this becomes available… Still, that’ll be one VERY expensive accessory, to be sure, but I’m willing to pay!
Yeah, great idea I think E2046 will do it if they are enough demand all those custom and ori project of them are real good, they sure can do it.
I hope not…That’s just going to ruin the difference between owning the real one or the bootleg E2046 version.
Please don’t do it…
Why in the flying f are Volks doing this to me, I already have a very expensive order for them this year and I cannot fulfil this one, which I bet is about the same as my current order. Assholes. And I really want this one too, the only figure of her so far with blue eyes.
By the way I forgot, this is not a GK but a fully pre-painted version, someone managed to email Volks about it and asked, their reply implied (not explicitly stated but almost so) that this will be fully pre-painted. Which means more pain.
That was me! And I actually got another reply confirming it about a week later. so yep, Prepainted complete coldcast kit for hobbyround 3. the only thing they don’t have nailed down is the price!
Oh man, then it’s gonna be even more $$$!
58000 yen!!! Could buy like 8 1/8 figures with that! Even though I WAS a Kos-Mos freak, gotta pass. Rather get 8 figures then saving for like 3 months on it.
58000yen or 78000yen is nothing to me when i really want the figure.
Oh my god, the price on this LOL it’s absolutely ridiculous! I don’t know who Volks is trying to convince to buy that, even the most hardcore fans will probably be willing to pass this with that price!
Price is actually a little more at 60,900 yen once you add on the tax. Not a bad price all things considered!
@muntoe:Guess you don’t know the target market. The unpainted kit was being sold for 50,000 yen last year and that sold pretty damn well. A prepainted figure for just 10k more? That’s a pretty good deal!
Under normal circumstances, I’d laugh at people who complain about the high price of such things… However, at well over $630 (without shipping included), I’ll make an exception…
If this figure were 1/3 scale, the price to size ratio would probably pan out pretty well,… but at $630+, I’ll buy both a 1/4 scale prepainted Kanu and a 1/4 scale prepainted Ayane from Hobbyfan or E2046 to go with my so-called “bootleg” Hobbyfan KOS-MOS that I paid $320 for (shipping included) and be just as happy.
seems almost impossible to find the non magnetic cast off version =( but i guess it would be as much as the magnetic one by now.. since its so rare
