November 17, 2009: Updated with BS

Sorry guys, I’m really sleepy now so I’ll skip my BS tonight. I might come back and write something when I have time tomorrow. m(_ _.)m

Hey I’m back! As Seiyaneo said in the comment, this kind of action figures are gaining popularity. More and more companies are trying to get into this bandwagon.

Kaiyodo Revoltech Fraulein VS Max Factory figma

I don’t care about those guy/robot/super hero action figures, but for the girl action figures in this size and price range, everything started with Kaiyodo Revoltech Fraulein in the beginning of January 2008 with Ayanami Rei. Then Max Factory followed right away by the end of the same month with the figma Chouyusha Haruhi Suzumiya. Since then Fraulein and figma become the biggest competitor to each others. However Fraulein couldn’t stand up to the challenge from figma and stopped the Fraulein line with the Yoko Movie Ver. in April 2009.

Kaiyodo Revoltech Queen’s Blade

After that, in June 2009, Kaiyodo jumped in again with their Revoltech Queen’s Blade and make a big success. In the mean time the quality of figma seems like going downhill for some reason.

Bandai S.H. Figurets and Aoshima mobip

In Auguet 2009, Bandai jumped in with the S.H. Figurets Hana 17yo. Actually Bandai has the S.H. Figurets line for quite some time but they just started to use this line in the girl figures.

In the same month, Aoshima released their mobip Kamikita Komari and mobip Natsume Rin. Most people said that they’re the clone of figma but their sculpture and quality really can’t up to the figma standard even if figma is going downhill.

Griffon figutto!

Last but not least, now Griffon jumps into this bandwagon with this figutto! Hakurei Reimu. She is pretty expensive compared to the other competitors IMO.

I leave out the Konami MMS and Atelier-Sai SMS on purpose. Since the Konami MMS mostly focus on their Busou Shinki and the Atelier-Sai SMS only focus on their Duel Maid.

That’s all guess, but I think I missed some small potatoes and failure products but that should be it for this girl action figures thingy. =]

Oh, btw, in the Revoltech Expo 2009, Kaiyodo announced that they will be back back with their Fraulein in spring 2010. And looks like they have a big improvement over the old Fraulein. I’m really looking forward to it!
