Yamato is going to release the SIF EX Iroha ( いろは ) 1/6 PVC figure from the 2D fighting game series “Samurai Shodown” ( サムライスピリッツ ) published by SNK. Will be released in August 2009. Around 250mm tall, 11,800 yen.

You can pre-order her here

I only played Samurai Shodown couple times when it first released in arcade like 16 years ago. I like fighting games but don’t like it when the characters fight with weapons. Btw, the “Samurai Shodown VI” is called “Samurai Spirits: Tale of the World’s Greatest Swordsman” ( サムライスピリッツ 天下一剣客伝 ) in Japan. I like the name “Samurai Spirits” ( 侍魂 ) a lot more than “Samurai Shodown” which we called in North America.

For this Iroha figure, as you can tell by her face, the sculptor of this Iroha figure is D蔵 (diskvision). You can see more of his work here: Ryomou Shimei, EVE, and Kanu Unchou. I really don’t understand the pricing from Yamato. Sometimes their figure is really cheap, but sometimes they’re really expensive. Is the SIF EX series always expensive like that? And is the Creators’ Lab series always cheaper? I really need to study about their series more.

There are two more figures announced by Yamato today, it’s pretty late now so I’ll post them tomorrow.
