ASCII Media Works (manufactured by Chara-ani) is going to release the Kosaka Kirino ( 高坂桐乃 ) Dengeki G’s magazine Ver. ( 電撃G’s magazine Ver. ) 1/8 PVC figure from the light novel “My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute” ( 俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない ) written by Fushimi Tsukasa. Will be released in August 2010. Around 180mm tall, 5,500 yen (taxed in). Dengeki Bunko Shop exclusive.
“My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute” ( Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai), also known as “Oreimo” for short, currently serialized Dengeki G’s magazine. It’s about a highschool guy Kosaka Kyosuke and his 14yrs old little otaku sister Kirino.
I never read the light novel but I read the manga. And you know what? Kirino is really really cute!!!! Recently I got the first 4 volumes of the light novel, I think I’ll start to read it after I finished all the Haruhi light novels. Oh yea, I started to read light novel (translated version) now. =D

I don’t know about the figure. It’s nice but pretty bland pose wise. There’s nice movement, but it’s not very exciting. Maybe I’d be more in to it if I read the manga/novel.
No, they’re not making an anime for Oreimo. The author Fushimi Tsukasa turned down the animation proposal last time I read. =/
Aw, that sucks… and I think I remember hearing that too. I wonder why he wouldn’t want an anime made? Even if it wasn’t about money I as a creator always thought it’d be awesome if my characters and story were brought to life through animation. But at the same time I can understand the fear of them becoming different then what you visioned.
