Max Factory is going to release the Nakano Azusa ( 中野梓 ) 1/7 PVC figure from the manga/anime “K-ON!” ( けいおん！ ). Will be released in September 2011. Around 230mm long, 7,429 yen.

I’m really dissappointed by the recent K-ON! figures from Max Factory. What happened to all these simple design figures?? Where is the Max Factory quality??? Oh man, this is a 1/7 scale figure. But where is all the details that a 1/7 scale figure should have??? The prize figure form SEGA can do better than this! =(

While I wouldn’t really say this looks worse than any of the SEGA Prize, you still have a point considering the price of a “real” scale PVC.
And well, lately quite some scale figures (especially 1(6 and 1/7) appear to have dropped in quality :/
hmmmm i really like the figure, except with, like you mentioned, the lack of detail. her pillow looks like a “bao” or bun. the cat looks dead. her outfit possibly lacks creases and wrinkles. her hood, from the back, doesnt look very good and looks flat. i assume the cat toy is suppose to be furry/feathery, but the picture doesnt really show if it has those details. also, that must be one hard pillow, if it can support her weight without being mushed and it seems like an uncomfortable pose. also, her face and demeanor does not look like a person that is having fun with her cat.
overall, i love the color and the situation azunyan is in.. but there are various things wrong with the figure that makes me so-so in purchasing and make me want to save money to get the black neko from bakemonogatari. when i first saw this azunyan, first glance it was a must have. but closer observations, not so much.
I pre-ordered already (along with Hanekawa too), I think it will look great when released, Mas Factory is a quality operation.

To the custom, DVD and figure are the same. They will tax you if they get you.
ahh icc…when i buy dvds from japan over ebay i dont get charged but i did get charged when i ordered from the states (that ups though) and play asia…so i was wondering if i should risk it lol
I agree with you, GGT, this Azusa doesn’t look that good… :/ She has a cute face and all, but there is something about her that I don’t like, and I can’t put my finger on it… Well, it is probably the lack of details, as you said. She indeed looks like a price figure… I wanted to order her to go with Max Factory Ritsu and Mugi, but I will skip her.
Also, doesn’t the cat have very strange legs? D:
