( テスト用スーツVer.) 1/6 PVC figure from the Neon Genesis Evangelion movie “Evangelion 2.0 You can (not) Advance” ( 新劇場版エヴァンゲリオン「破」 ). Will be released in September 2010. Before I watched the Evangelion 2.22, I thought I would fell for Asuka and Mari but I was wrong. Asuka and Mari didn’t have much screen time as I expected so I didn’t really have any feeling about them. I think the movie focus too much on Ayanami and Shinji. =/

This Asuka figure is big! 180mm tall is taller than a lot of 1/8 scale figures. Compared to the Alter Asuka which was announced last week, this Kotobukiya one looks so bright and colorful. The color of the Alter one is a bit too dull. I like how Kotobukiya paint her test plug suit really glossy. I think this is how the plug suit supposed to looks like. But for the pose and the face/hair, personally I prefer the Alter one. Um… which one should I get? Or I should just get the cheapo figma or Fraulein and call it a day? =P

The most notable element of the new suit, the clear orange area, has been reproduced in a different material from the rest of the suit for a totally new color and feel, and the shading on Asuka’s belly and back have been meticulously recreated to really give the feeling of a transparent material! Of course the TEST printing on the chest, protruberances on the wrist parts and other characteristic details have also been perfectly reproduced! ummm how is the Alter’s Asuka coloring dull? Alter likes to use dark and richer colors but “dull” is the last thing I would call it.
Alter makes good stuff… All my figures from them are nice.
i agree that the alter pose/face looks much better. but.. this one is shiney and bigger haha.. but no doubt more expensive i assume. after reading more about pvc XD i think imma buy the one that isnt posed in an awkward/unsupported fashion in case it bends or starts deform on its own weight haha.
Wow, more Asuka figures from EVA 2.0. Is the movie really that popular? I haven’t seen it yet and it seems there’s a ton of toys coming out this year with her new suit design.

Unit 02 goes berserk no-holds-bar, it was awesome!
They have improved a lot of things and changed storylines.
The ending where Unit 01 does this retrieval thing gets the hairs on my skin standing on ends and it was the most EPIC scene I’ve seen in anime.
