Atelier-Sai is going to release the Ayanami Rei ( 綾波レイ ) 1/8 Polystone figure from the the Neon Genesis Evangelion new movie “Evangelion 2.0 You can (not) Advance” ( 新劇場版エヴァンゲリオン「破」 ). Will be released in September 2010. Around 170mm long, 12,000 yen.
Atelier-Sai is still alive!!!! The last time Atelier-Sai updated their website was on October 3, 2009. Since then there was no word about them at all. When everyone thought Atelier-Sai was dead, suddenly they came out again and announced this Ayanami Rei Polystone figure last week. (Oo.
But this Ayanami Rei is really a disappointment. Wow, look at her hands and the *detail of her hair. SHE IS UGLY! I wonder who would pay 12,000 yen for this. =(

Wow, pretty much everything about this figure is off. The proportions, the face, the hair… the paintwork lacks any depth or texture. 120,000 yen for that?
I can’t believe that price. It’s small and ugly, bad detailing and paintjob. Even my 1100 yen prize figures look better. It’s not even large scale! Just 1/8.

I guess Atelier-Sai needs to get back in the groove again…look at those proportions and the PRICE! D:
i guess her eyes look alrite… the joints of the figure looks chubby (ankle, wrist..) maybe they spent the 1year+ haitus to work on this =P
