Kotobukiya is going to release the Senjougahara Hitagi ( 戦場ヶ原ひたぎ ) 1/8 PVC figure figure from the light novel/anime “Bakemonogatari” ( 化物語 ). Will be released in July 2010. Around 215mm tall, 6,800 yen.

“~Staple~Staple~!” Here is Senjougahara Hitagi, the girl who was possessed by a crab. Beside the “Oh! Crab” on the base that looks really out of place, this Senjougahara Hitagi looks excellence to me. Unlike Alter or GSC, we don’t always see this kind of “one-leg-stand” pose in the figures by Kotobukiya. Let’s hope that she will not have the “soft-leg” issue over time.
If GSC isn’t going to release Senjougahara Hitagi too, I think I have been ordered this Kotobukiya one already.

I agree, the base shown in the first picture is better but I understand that that level of detail can really drive up the price of the figure whereas a cheap piece of clear plastic with kanji spray painted on it is much, MUCH cheaper.
I’ve only seen half of the series but so far I love her in your face manners and “communication skills”. She’s totally disconcerting one second and then incredibly funny the next.

Me too, but it depends on how much is the GSC one. If she is too expensive, then I’ll come back for this Kotobukiya one. =P

I prefer, for the moment GSC version for the base, and the face expression ^^ And GSC quality is better than Kotobukiya ^^’
GSC’s is cool in how it’s the same as the art, but there’s something really nice about Koto’s…
But then I am a bit of a GSC hater (except nendoroids, but even they have quality fails) as I don’t believe a cheap figure from 2005, from Koto, who many think the quality isn’t so great, should be better than a 2008 figure made by a company nearly every figure collector adores…
(story is, I held my GSC Miku in a way that made her fall and break, but I can hold all of my Kotobukiya figures sideways or even upside down…)
