KyotoAnimation is going to release the Kotobuki Tsumugi ( 琴吹 紬) 1/8 PVC figure from the manga/anime “K-ON!” ( けいおん！ ). Will be released in December 2010. Around 210mm tall (base 15mm tall), 8,000 yen (taxed in). Kyoani Shop exclusive.

Being really well known by the weird pose, KyotoAnimation is bringing us the the 3rd K-ON! figure, Kotobuki Tsumugi!! From the photos we have here, seems like Mugi is the shiniest one out of the three. Not just her underwear, but her dress and gloves are really glossy to me, and she is really colorful! =D
Btw, the Mio figure haven’t been out for couple weeks already. From the reviews by the Japanese figure collectors (.30Cal Club, ニトロ有線式 ) the quality isn’t too good. The paint job is really funny, the tip of Mio’s hair is really glossy but the rest are kinda dull. No shading on the skin, dress, and her sleeve. The quality looks like Kotobukiya figure, but the cheap level ones… =(

Wow, she looks REALLY shiny…I like her but not enough to get her from the sounds of the Mio figure (which imo is not worth the price, look at the glossy tips and little shading!). It’s a shame that the quality seems cheaper on these figures, you’d think being exclusive meant superb quality.
Leaving all that aside, the color scheme is really pretty to me and the pose reminds me of a ballerina xD
So shiny,! even her armpits are glossy XD I think I’m gonna get her in case my wallet allowed.

I can understand leaving Mio’s skin plain and pale by simple virtue of remaining faithful to the original illustration but that doesn’t begin to account for her oleaginous hair. I’m not sure why that enamel-like finish was chosen but it certainly wasn’t on the decoration master. Hopefully Mugi will fare better post-production.
By the way, do we know who actually manufactured these? I can’t imagine KyoAni creating all of their K-ON! PVCs in-house, even if their numbers are limited.

Hm, not a fan of the final version. Not a fan of the color scheme. Kinda funny that I liked it better unpainted. Guess I’ll pass which isn’t hard since they’re exclusives. I’ll save the pics, thanks GGT2
