KyotoAnimation is going to release the Tainaka Ritsu ( 田井中 律 ) 1/8 PVC figure from the manga/anime “K-ON!” ( けいおん！ ). Will be released in September 2010. Around 203mm tall, 8,000 yen (taxed in). Kyoani Shop exclusive.
Based on the custome in the K-ON! season one ending, KyotoAnimation bring us their second K-ON! figure, Tainaka Ritsu. Maybe it’s just the photo, this Ritsu figure doesn’t look so good to me. As I said it couple times already, black is one of the hardest colors to paint because you can’t just add highlight or shading on it like the other colors. You need to use other colors (e.g. blue, brown, red) to bring out the depth of the black. This Ritsu figure shows us a really bad example on how not to paint black. It looks just completely flat black to me, no shading no highlight no nothing. Well maybe it’s just the bad quality of the photos tho.

This is the strangest pose for a figurine I’ve seen in a while now.
Say GGT you´ve wrote Ritus instead of Ritsu. And i agree with you, it looks weird but let´s wait until the realese another couple of pics =D

Totally agree here. The top half looks great, it screams quality. The dress on the other hand looks terrible. I didn’t think I knew what you meant last time by black being the hardest to paint, but now I understand. It’s painfully obvious even to a novice how bad that looks.

I-I must be crazy, but I think she is beautiful! Her clothes look very good to me, and, in my opinion, the paint job is good. I’m usually very picky when it comes to figures, but I really would like to buy this one, too bad it’s exclusive.
Well, MC Hammer and all of the 80’s would be proud of this figure =) Oh, and throw in some dancing ninja’s in there too!
