Kotobukiya is going to release the Makise Kurisu ( 牧瀬 紅莉栖 ) 1/8 PVC figure from the visual novel “Steins;Gate” (シュタインズ ゲート) developed by 5bp. & Nitro+. Will be released in September 2010. Around 240mm tall (220mm tall without base), 7,800 yen.
Sorry guys, I misread the information about this Makise Kurisu figure in the “Coming Soon” post 2 days ago and thought that this she will be bundled with the game. But forturnety I was wrong! She is not bundled with anything and we can just buy her alone for only 7,800 yen (or mid 6,000 yen if you shop around).
My pre-order list for September is still pretty empty so I might be able to get this lovely Makise Kurisu figure. However, my pre-order list is REALLY FULL in August and Alter and GSC might delay some of their August releases to September so I’m still not sure if I should get her or not. Um… thinking thinking… =/

——Description from Manufacturer—— Sculpted by MIC “I want to open my mind and stab these electrodes into the seal” The fastest transition to a figure possible in the industry! From 5pb. and Nitro+’s next generation adventure game, Steins;Gate, comes the clearheaded tsundere heroine, Kurisu! Skipping a grade at 18 and graduating early from university, Kurisu is working as a Neurological Researcher at Victor Condoria University when the game takes place. Not only superbly skilled, she is also a suberp tsundere heroine. This figure is a perfect rendition of Kurisu as she appeared in the Xbox360 Volume Pack! Sitting on a base made up of complex, intertwining gears, Kurisu seems to be gazing far in the distance. The base seems to be defying gravity, lending this figure a beautifully mysterious feeling and making this is a perfect transition from the fantastical world of the game into reality! From Kurisu’s beautiful face to her exquisitely detailed outfit this figure is sure to please even the most discerning collector. Sure to split Kotobukiya’s history in two with its amazing execution, please enjoy this beautiful new figure! |

I quite like the whole look of this figure, her hair could have been shaded more, but overall. It’s very nice. ^_^
The base is better than the actual figure. I would have bought this for 7800 if it actually was a game bundle, but alone is ridiculous. :/
I don’t think it’s that terrible…but yea 7800 yen is a bit much for a figure of this quality. I have other things I’m saving up for anyway.
Nevertheless she’s a very different type of figure, but imo the price is a bit high. I do love those gears though.
Granted Koto is not known for ridiculously high amounts of detailing on their figures, but 8000 JPY is not ridiculous at all, in my opinion. I mean, its a full 1/8 scale figure at about 24 cm, which is pretty big, and has a rather complex base and quite a few paint applications. Compare that to some of the Taki releases (like the 9240 JPY Bachou that would have looks like it walked out of the 90’s in terms of quality) and I’d say this is more than reasonable.
That said, I’m not planning on picking this one up myself (I already have way way too many pre-orders), but its still a good looking figure.
Like Bip said no clue where you guys are pulling this “Overpriced” BS from…Its an exquisite 1/8th with a great diorama-ish base for sub 8k? The hell more do you want…
Meh anyway ordered already…Love it to death!
I’ll say that the price tag is just right. Kotobukiya occasionally does make exceptionally fantastic figurine like my Yoko and I expect this to be one of the best Kotobukiya figurine released. This is sure a good deal by comparing details relatively to price, and comparing it with GSC’s Senjougahara.
I think the price tag is about right too. And this figure is not small, 240mm is really tall. FYI, the 1/6 Miyagawa Takeshi Hatsune Miku is only 235mm tall without the base, Black Rock Shooter is 255mm tall with the base. Both of them are pretty well known for their size.
Maybe 7,800 yen is a little bit more expensive than the usual figures by Kotobukiya, but I think it’s still reasonable.
Huke design are awesome!
Too bad I can’t play the game, but thinking to get this figure.
