Good Smile Company is going to release the Senjougahara Hitagi ( 戦場ヶ原ひたぎ ) 1/8 PVC figure figure from the light novel/anime “Bakemonogatari” ( 化物語 ). Will be released in October December 2010 January 2011. Around 210mm tall, 9,334 yen.

Is this Senjougahara Hitagi PVC figure nice? Yes, she is superb! But is she worth 9,263 yen (same as Black Rock Shooter)? Um…I don’t think so. I really don’t see how would GSC give her such a high price tag. Yes, Senjougahara is popular, but I really don’t think she worth as much as the BRS. I’ll just stick with the Kotobukiya one. =/
Update (May15): I was wondering why GSC didn’t include the front view of this Senjougahara Hitagi’s face in these promotion images? Now I know!! Well to each their own, I know a lot of you like her face, but I think it’s a big turn off for me.

She’s so bought, so very bought. I’m not sure why they included the other skirt though because there’s no way I’ll ever display her without the school supplies falling out. I mean that’s half the appeal of this figure, it’s uniqueness in that respect. It just adds to the price which I thought was rather high at 9800 JPY or whatever. Thankfully AmiAmi and the like all have a lower price.
I agree 100% with Aka.. I’ve never seen a figure with such an unique aspect..
I think her price isn’t too bad. If you want to own quality figures its going to cost you. Hopefully GSC will keep the quality good. I really don’t want to see bad quality control on this release. This figure is one of a kind and definitely unique. I know lots and lots of people are going to get her. xD
And i was looking forward to this figure too, but the face really turned me down.
The face is bad at all. I saw her at the expo. The picture only slightly distorts it since they’re taking the picture at an angle.

Hm, yah thought the same. I have no problem paying that money for a figure but for a 1/8 that’s just too much IMO. Sure, she comes with lot of clutter and the pose is nice but still, nope, I will pass on this one. Why won’t ALTER release a Senjougahara figure? T_T

Maybe I’m not seeing it, but the face looks just fine to me. As a huge Bakemonogatari fan, this was an instant pre-order for me. The 3D effect with all the stationary is just too awesome to pass up.
All that clutter looks like a big pain in the ass to put togther. But the figure does look beautiful and she will be the centre of attention on your shelf.
As for the price and size. Well look at this way. If she was any bigger then 1\8, she would be double the price.
Personally I think the face is a huge selling point… it looks perfect for Senjougahara. I’ve already put my order in for this one as well from AmiAmi.
