WAVE is going to release the DreamTech Nia ( ニア ) Swimwear DX Ver. ( 水着Ver. デラックス版 ) 1/8 PVC figure form the anime “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann” ( 天元突破グレンラガン ). Will be released September 2009. Around 170mm, 6,000 yen.

This is the long hair Nia DX version that I mentioned earlier. She comes with both long & short hair parts and a lifesaver. Compared to the price of the normal version, you need to pay extra 1,300 yen just for the long hair and the lifesaver which is pretty expensive IMO. But since I always want a long hair Nia figure, I’ll get this DX Ver. over the normal version if I have enough fund in September.
Actually I preordered a long hair Nia prize figure already. I know the quaility of those prize figures usually aren’t that good, but those SEGA ones are pretty good sometimes. If she isn’t good at all, then I’ll just cancel the order and get this DX Ver. instead. =P

I’d pay the extra 1300 yen for the long hair (and the life saver, but who cares about that). There aren’t many Nia figurines around so I’ll dig this for the time being.
The hair, however, doesn’t look too spectacular. It’s looks too 2D with the 2 shades of blue overlapping. But considering how they’re following the character designs, I don’t think that I’ll mind it…much.
So did you cancel it after you realize it was bad? I got this figure along with the other figures from hobby search’s sale and she was rated IMO the 2nd worst one, out of the 5 I bought.
