Toy’s works is going to release the Hojo Kuniko ( 北条國子 ) 1/8 PVC figure from the light novel/mana/anime “Shangri-La” ( シャングリ·ラ, ). Will be released in July 2010. Around 135mm tall, 6,648 yen.

Ooooooooh, this Hojo Kuniko is so lovely. I like Range Murata’s ( 村田 蓮爾 ) character design A LOT! I guess most of the Loli lover like his works too. But too bad the animation studio Gonzo couldn’t re-create his style in the Shangri-La anime.
I really like this Kuniko figure and I’m going to pre-order once she is up in the store. Let’s hope that Toys works will not screw her up this time. =D

Yea Range’s art is amazing, but like ya said GG the anime was just…ugh…

Yes it really was…Muddled doesn’t even come close to describing the Plot-line and the animation quality really takes a massive nosedive after a certain point.
Beyond my own personal opinion though I’ll just state the fact that the DVDs sold so poorly they didn’t even release all of them singly instead stopping half-way and only selling the rest in a box set with a bunch of Ranges art packaged in to entice people to get it…yea…

She looks lovely. Really want to get her, but I’m still not sure if she will turn out like the prototype. And I wish her base was colored or something instead of being this big black disc.
Ever since I got that Kanzaki Kaori from Toy Works, they are rated the same as Taki to me, even though i never got any Taki figures (Cause I no they suk) You won’t believe the difference between the pics up there and the actual figure, u will want a refund.
This might sound picky but I think it’d interesting to note that this is one of the few sculpts that I’ve seen which has “normal” hair. e.g.: It’s not slicked down plastic on the back of the head.
It seems like the sculptor made her to look like she’s leaping into the the air rather than kneeling on the base. It would have been nice if they could have integrated that into the pose, instead.
The base sux big time. She is supposed to be in the air and lean on the left hand side.
I’ll get her depending on how good she looks after she’s been released.
