Alter is going to release the Gertrud Barkhorn ( ゲルトルート・バルクホルン ) 1/8 PVC figure form the anime “Strike Witches” ( ストライクウィッチーズ ). Will be released in March April 2012. Around 240mm tall (with weapon & base), 7,800 yen.
We just had the Gertrud Barkhorn prize figure form SEGA little more than 1 week ago and now we have her scaled PVC figure form Alter! What a good news for the Gertrud Barkhorn fans. =D Obviously she looks soooooooo much better (and more expensive) then the SEGA one. From what I heard from the Strike Witches figure collectors, this Gertrud Barkhorn figure by Alter has the widest open legs out of all the Strike Witches PVC figures in the market!! LOL. XD

Strike witches figures are soooo boring yet they keep on pumping out figures. Its the same thing every time, legs in the air and and two guns or one gun or a rocket launcher. Id like to see some figures where they are doing something else for a change.
I was wondering, why don’t they wear pants? Some of those characters have a very interesting design, but their lack of pants (as well as the animal ears and tail) are a huge turn-off for me. OTL
well i suppose its supposed to be becauise of their striker unit thingies, i guess they qualify as “legwear” already… in the pilot movie, they did wear pants or skirts when they didnt wear their strike runtis, after all. but guess they dropped that completely in the naime for fanservice reasones. but dont let the high amount oof fanservice scare you away, its actually a really good show! it lives msotly of its charactres, they are all pretty well made and fleshed out. also all the historical references are really a nice thing. like every one of them is actually based ona real ace pilot of WWII, they just made them female and younger (and well, witches) (except for sanya, the one she was based on was female in reality too. wasnt that young, though.)
