Ahh I want the SD vocaloids!
You know I’ve heard a lot of people moan about the quality of Sega figures, but of the one’s I have the quality is quite good for a cheap figure.
Definitely up for the Lucky Star OVA set and the two Miku vocaloid cute figures. I’ve gotten a few of the Haruhi cute mini figures and they are ADORABLE! I might get Luca, but I don’t know…
Oh and just noticed the Gurren Lagen maid figures. They look nice, in the picture but I know that sometimes the actual figures don’t come out as nice.
It seems the Gurren Lagen girls are the new Rei and Asuka. Short haired Nia(Rei) and red head Yoko(Asuka). I suppose we should prepare ourselves for them in a lot of different fantasy costumes!
By the way I haven’t seen Gurren Lagen yet…
I never really realised the comparison between Nia to Rei and Yoko to Asuka. Plus, with Gainax lauching both shows into movies, I don’t think ‘replacement’ is the appropriate word. They’ve all got different personalities from their counterparts. Perhaps only the hair colour is merely a coincidence.
I’ve not seen Nia cosplaying in different outfits, since she’s a widely neglected character. As for Yoko, I’m sure it won’t be difficult to find a fairly large number of her figurines.
Btw, I strongly recommend you to watch the show if you’ve not done so. You’ll finally know the meaning of ‘awesome’ when you’re done with it.
Sega figurines are decently nice, small and cheap. But I hate it whenever they don’t put up how the final product looks like and only have a 2D anime picture as their pre-order advertisement.
OH I didn’t mean they were the same type of character just that it seems they’re going to be the new girls that Gainax milks by putting them in different costumes. Much like they do with Rei and Asuka. But that’s only going off this one set really as I haven’t really seen them in anything other then standard anime garb.
I do plan on watching it as soon as it comes out in a boxset. Probably would have picked it up soon, but there seemed like too many releases to figure out which one I wanted.
I always try to check Sega’s site to see if they have any images up rather then the 2D picture, but sometimes they don’t and it sucks… you end up taking a chance on the figure. I did that with the Rei and Asuka Sweet Witches and the picture was of them kind of chibi but the first release had them normal. I guess they got some backlash because they released them again closer to the original image. Least I think that was the one. So I’m pretty weary now.
