Griffon Enterprises is going to release the Sister of the Devil ( 悪魔の妹 ) Flandre Scarlet ( フランドール・スカーレット ) 1/8 PVC figure from the doujin danmaku shooting game series “Touhou Project” ( 東方プロジェクト ) by the circle Team Shanghai Alice ( 上海アリス幻樂団 ). Will be released in February 2010. Around 200mm tall, 6,800 yen.

This is Flandre Scarlet, the little sister of the Scarlet Devil Remilia Scarlet. They’re the vampires who live in the Scarlet Devil Mansion in the middle of the Misty Lake in Gensokyo. They’re really really strong but yet have a lot of weak points such as sun shine and water.

Don’t ask me about her wings. I really have no idea why they appear totally different from Remilia’s. But since everybody in Gensokyo can fly even without wings, I guess wings are just a decoration to them. =P

Extra stage boss. Remilia’s little sister, sealed away in the basement of the mansion for 495 years because of her destructive power. Despite this, she likes her sister and doesn’t usually try to escape. Most vampires hold back somewhat when fighting humans, as they plan to keep them alive and feed from them later, but Flandre was always fed prepared dishes and does not know her food comes from humans. Thus, when fighting them, she does not hesitate and incinerates them without a second thought. In dōjinshi, she is very fond of Marisa. This can be address to the final conversation the two share in the Extra stage or the fact that the two share similarity as both have extremely destructive spell cards.

Her theme music, “U.N. Owen Was Her?”, is a popular Internet meme and has inspired several remixes, most notably a video which has Ronald McDonald sing the song using clips from Japanese McDonald’s commercials.
