ASCII Media Works is going to release the Ayanami Rei ( 綾波レイ ) Super Plug Suits Ver. ( スーパープラグスーツver. ) 1/8 color resin cast GK from the anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion” ( 新世紀エヴァンゲリオン ). Will be released in January 2010. Around 170mm tall, 11,300 yen (tax in) + shipping. 58 parts in total. Kit is made of color resin and it is NOT printed nor completed. Figure Maniacs Otome Kumi 35 exclusive.

You might not know what is “ASCII Media Works (ASCIIMW)” but I’m sure you know what Dengeki is. Yes, ASCIIMW is the publisher of Dengeki Hobby. So Dengeki is actually ASCIIMW, and “Figure Maniacs Otome Kumi” ( フィギュアマニアックス乙女組 ) is a sister magazine of Dengeki hobby which focus in girl figures. This Ayanami Rei GK is Figure Maniacs Otome Kumi 35 mail-in order exclusive which I’m sure 99.999% of us who are not live in Japan hate the most.

This kit is made of color resin. This kind of GK is getting popular now. It’s just like the Gundam plastic model which cast in different color for different parts. It is very good for those people who are able to afford a nice GK but don’t have good painting skill. But of coz it is better if you have the skill to paint your own kit. =]

      I think her hands is the thing that makes her unique :-)
      if a PVC version of this kit is ever made, i’ll order it immediately.
