Counterfeit Awareness! – CAT LAP MILK 1/7 PVC figure by Native

Tags: , ,

Just a head up! Native issused a warning about the counterfeit of their CAT LAP MILK 1/7 PVC figure (18+) in the Native official blog. It is not hard to tell if it is authentic or counterfeit if you’re an experience figure collector. But for the new collectors, this is a good guide to help you to tell the difference.

**Counterfeit**

First, this is the counterfeit box. As you can see the milk pattern isn’t lining up.

**Authentic**

Second, check out the peg(s) on the torso. The authentic one used two small round columns but the counterfeit used a big rectangle block.

Third, the paint job and the surface quality. If you are a new collector then you might not be able to tell unless you put both authentic one and counterfeit one side by side. But for those of us who are experienced, we can tell it right away.

The surface condition is very rough on the counterfeit

**Counterfeit**

Unlike the paint job on the authentic which is very sharp and clean, the paint on the counterfeit is always bleeding through here and there.

Last but not least, if you see someone selling one on ebay/Amazon but you can’t tell if it is a counterfeit because the seller is using the official photos from Native. Well, just look at the price. The CAT LAP MILK was selling for 9,000 yen + shipping back in July 2013. You will be luck if you can find an authentic one selling for under US$200 in these days. Just did a quick check on ebay and all of the sellers who are selling them for around US$40-80, they’re all counterfeit.
