Kodomo no Jikan Kokonoe Rin Gym Uniform ver. 1/4 PVC figure by FREEing
FREEing is going to release the Kokonoe Rin ( 九重りん ) Gym Uniform ver. ( 体操服ver. ) 1/4 PVC figure from the manga/anime “Kodomo no Jikan” ( こどものじかん ). Will be release in January 2009. Around 190mm tall, 11,800 yen.
My nightmare comes true. I had a bad freeing about this Kokonoe figure since I posted it last week. Her eyes looked kind weird from the photo. Since that was just a magazine scans and other ppl said she was nice, so I thought it was just my imagination. Oh well, but it comes true. Her eyes does looks really weird. And it’s not just that, the painting is really plain too. It’s really disappointing! FREEing used to do it really good on those 1/4 figures (those bunny Haruhi girls), but this one is just bad. You know since I like loli characters so much, I really like Kokonoe. FREEing just ruined her. =’(

Meh, it could be simply that the pic is of a pre-production prototype. I have the CM’s 1/2 scale (I think?!) Rin, and she looked downright miserable in the first pre-prod shots, still pretty bad in the updates, and when The Box got here..oh my. Pix were totally wrong. She’s beautifully painted.

More like I’m a fan of the manga and its creator, but yes, I’m a big admirer of Rin. She’s so little, and she’s dealing with such heavy shit. She’s strong. She’s also weak and messed up in the head, but at the very core, she’s got a spine of steel.
I’m also amazed by how skilled Watashiya-sensei is as an artist — she can say more in one small panel than most people say in an entire written page.
Aw what the hell — I love Rin-tan, and I’d be glad to have my spine cracked by a hug from her ^.^;
I have a feeling this story and its characters will be legend one day.
I like the manga too! The story is getting darker and darker recently. Seems like it’s gonna end soon. I hope it will have a happy ending. (@@.
